DLC has been released for the game, both as free and paid DLC. These DLCs have seen crossovers with Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy and SpongeBob SquarePants. Now a new DLC has been released, bringing crossover content with Back To The Future, but the experience is a bit less than satisfactory.
The DLC does start nicely, with the job of cleaning Doc Brown’s van and receiving texts about Back To The Future while doing that job, but the issues soon rear their head. The DLC is not bad per se, and there are some great locations straight out of all three films in the trilogy, but unlike the SpongeBob SquarePants DLC, you do not really feel like you are in the world of Back To The Future, just areas that reference it. The five new areas are fun and continue the Zen-like nature of the gameplay, but it just feels over far too soon.
The five new levels include the previously mentioned Doc Brown’s Van, but also the DeLorean, the Hill Valley Clocktower, the Holomax Theater and Doc’s Time Train from Back To The Future Part 3. As mentioned, I did like the levels, but aside from the Holomax Theater, they didn’t have the same feeling the SpongeBob SquarePants DLC did and felt less unique. Maybe if the levels were more involved and not over with so quickly, it would be different, but I feel the DLC may be a bit overpriced, and worth maybe three-quarters of what is being asked.
If you love PowerWash Simulator and just want more of the relaxing gameplay, then this is definitely something to play, and even moreso if you are a fan of Back To The Future. What might be best though, is waiting for a sale, because these levels feel a bit too easy and are over with far too soon. Hopefully, the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 DLC is more meaty, because that one has a lot of potential with what can be done.
