During the first Switch 2 Direct, we received the news that Kirby Air Riders will be coming to the Switch 2 and would be released sometime in 2025. However, since that time, Nintendo has not shared any news on the game and it is already August. That may be changing soon though, and we may finally learn more.

Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Kirby and directors of Kirby Air Riders, took to social media and gave a brief update.  Sakurai noted that while no footage has been shown yet, he  believes he will be able to share news on the game soon. Hopefully, this is sooner than later, and comes with a good look at the gameplay.

Kirby Air Riders is a new title based on the GameCube Kirby racing and action game, Kirby Air Ride, which was also directed by Masahiro Sakurai. This will be Sakurai’s first non Smash Bros title since Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Sakurai has stated in the past he felt he was not able to do all he wanted with the first game. Hopefully Kirby Air Riders will be the true version of what Sakurai hopes to accomplish.
