Square Enix Vice President Yoshinori Kitase mentioned something interesting while doing interviews about Final Fantasy XVI and the next part of Final Fantasy VII Remake is deep in development. Kitase mentioned that one request fans have for a remake is for Final Fantasy VI, and what stood out was that many developers at Square Enix also want to see such a remake.
“I think FF6 Remake would be difficult. FF7 Remake is not yet finished so I am not able to think about it… But for FF6 there are many FF6 fans inside the company and they often ask me ‘when are we making 6?’”
Obviously, such a remake would be years away if it happened, but it is interesting to see that even many in Square Enix are pushing for it.
