The chainsaw is coming back, as Dragami Games, Nada Holdings, and developer JP Universe have officially announced Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back for PlayStation 5. The sequel is scheduled to launch in 2027 and will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving fans their first chance to get their hands on Juliet’s latest zombie-slaying adventure.
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back brings Juliet Starling back into the spotlight, although she will have a very different setting to deal with this time around. San Romero has been rebuilt into “Jaredwood,” a sprawling metropolis centred around the film industry, and Juliet finds herself trapped inside a bizarre zombie movie created by a mysterious director.
Naturally, things go from strange to considerably worse from there. Juliet will have to fight alongside her allies, uncover the conspiracy surrounding the zombie outbreak, and deal with a new threat in the form of the Corrupted Realm zombies. The sequel also promises a new look for Juliet, along with more powerful abilities as she takes on the latest undead invasion.
The development team includes some familiar names from both the Lollipop Chainsaw series and the wider games industry. Hajime Tabata, best known for directing Final Fantasy XV, is involved with the project, while Masahiro Yuki returns after co-producing and writing the scenario for the original Lollipop Chainsaw. Main character concept artist NekoshowguN is also back for the new game.
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back is currently confirmed for PS5, with its 2027 release window still being the only date information announced. More details are expected as development continues, while Tokyo Game Show 2026 will provide the first opportunity for players to see the new game in action.
To mark the announcement, Dragami Games is also holding a sale for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, with discounts of up to 45 percent on select digital storefronts.
