Red Dunes Games and Bugblio Studio are bringing their co-op dungeon adventure LightSup! to Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving players another look at the game ahead of its planned Q1 2027 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Originally entering development in 2023, LightSup! has spent the past year being refined through testing and player feedback following its appearance at TGS 2025. The team says that feedback has helped improve the game’s pacing, user experience, and quality-of-life features while further polishing its overall presentation.

Set in a world trapped beneath an endless eclipse, LightSup! follows a group of young adventurers who discover the cause of the darkness during their training. With the Altar of Light standing between their people and the monsters and madness spreading across the world, the group sets out to uncover the truth behind the eclipse and restore light to Lumineia.

The game combines couch co-op action with roguelite progression, dungeon crawling, and survival mechanics, supporting one to four players. While solo play is available, Bugblio Studio has designed the dungeons, cards, enemies, and challenges around cooperation, with larger groups allowing for increasingly chaotic encounters.

One of the game’s key systems is its combination of Blessings and Curses. Blessings provide benefits to the entire party, while Curses offer more powerful rewards at a shared cost. These can include effects such as friendly fire or the appearance of periodic elite enemies, forcing players to decide how much risk they are willing to take during each run.

Players can also unlock Party and Character Upgrades, Blessings, Nightmare Challenges, and additional characters as they progress. Individual runs contribute to the broader progression system as players uncover more of the game’s lore, develop their characters, and work toward reaching the Eclipse Core.

The world itself is divided into distinct areas designed to give each dungeon its own identity. The Living Forest, for example, combines its vibrant surroundings with remnants of ancient structures, while the Ruined Castle offers a more theatrical setting filled with challenging encounters. Environmental details also play a role in revealing the history of the world, with seemingly insignificant locations such as a blacksmith’s room offering glimpses into the lives of those who once lived there.

Players will take control of a cast that includes Timid Tim, a nervous adventurer who finds courage when his friends need him; Fyvana, a playful wanderer with a mysterious divine purpose; Quill, a young hero confronting his fear of the dark; Lala, a curious and blunt-minded thinker; and Meyer, a bard whose music helps guide the group.

With its mixture of beat-’em-up action, roguelite progression, dungeon crawling, and four-player couch co-op, LightSup! will get another chance to show what it has been building toward when Red Dunes Games and Bugblio Studio appear at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The game is currently targeting a Q1 2027 launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
