Warner Bros. Games is bringing LEGO Harry Potter Collection to Nintendo Switch 2 this fall, giving fans another chance to experience Harry Potter’s entire cinematic journey through TT Games’ trademark LEGO humour. The collection will launch on October 16 for $49.99 in both physical and digital formats.
The physical release will be offered as a game-key card and will include both games contained in the collection on a single key card. The Switch 2 version is being handled by Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, with TT Games returning as the original developer behind the two adventures.
Rather than focusing on just one portion of Harry’s story, LEGO Harry Potter Collection brings together LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, covering all eight films in the main Harry Potter movie series.
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 follows Harry from his arrival at Hogwarts through the events of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Players will revisit familiar locations and moments from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, all reimagined with LEGO characters, environments, puzzles, and plenty of comedic touches.
The second game, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, picks up with Harry’s later years at Hogwarts and continues through the final confrontation with Lord Voldemort. It draws from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, bringing the story to its conclusion.
Across both games, players can explore Hogwarts, cast spells, solve puzzles, brew potions, collect LEGO studs, and take control of a large roster of characters from throughout the series. As with other LEGO adaptations from TT Games, familiar scenes from the films are presented with a much lighter tone, allowing the collection to retell some of Harry Potter’s biggest moments without taking itself too seriously.
The collection also includes previously released downloadable content, giving the Switch 2 version a substantial amount of content from the outset. Among the included extras is a Character Pack featuring characters such as Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin, Peeves, Luna Lovegood in her Lion Head outfit, and alternate versions of Harry, Hermione, Ron and other characters.
A Spell Pack is also included, adding spells such as Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors, and Tentaclifors to the game’s collection of magical abilities.
LEGO Harry Potter Collection has been available on several platforms for years, first launching on PlayStation 4 in 2016 before making its way to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018. The collection later arrived on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2024.
The upcoming Switch 2 release therefore isn’t a brand-new LEGO Harry Potter adventure, but it does give Nintendo players another opportunity to experience both games on Nintendo’s latest hardware. With the entire eight-film saga represented and the previously released DLC included, the collection offers a fairly comprehensive way to revisit TT Games’ take on the Wizarding World.
For longtime Harry Potter fans who have never played the LEGO adaptations, the Switch 2 release also provides an easy entry point, combining both games into a single package rather than requiring players to purchase the two adventures separately.
