Fans of old-school arcade beat ’em ups will have another fantasy adventure to look forward to on Nintendo Switch, as Sometimes You and Alexey Suslin have announced that King’s Blade is making its way to Nintendo’s console later this month.
King’s Blade will launch digitally on Nintendo Switch on September 30, bringing its take on classic beat ’em up action to the platform. Set in a grim heroic-fantasy world, the game puts players in control of the elite warriors of the King’s Blade as they battle the forces of the Barganian Empire and fight their way toward the enemy capital.
The game is built around arcade-style brawling, with a combat system featuring combos, environmental weapons, spells, and special attacks. Players can choose from six different heroes and battle through 12 levels, giving the adventure plenty of room for its fantasy setting to mix with traditional side-scrolling action.
King’s Blade also supports local co-op for up to four players, allowing friends to join the fight together. Those looking to play without a full group can also bring AI-controlled fighters along for the journey.
King’s Blade will be available digitally on Nintendo Switch for $9.99 when it launches on September 30. A 20% discount will also be available during the pre-order period.
