Inti Creates has released a new information, and a new trailer for its upcoming hybrid 2D action and strategy RPG Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster, detailing the game loop and progression.

Kingdom’s Return is an action RPG where players must adventure to restore their fallen kingdom. Collect materials in 2D side-scrolling adventure stages, then use them in the strategy part to build your city as you see fit, and powering up your characters in the process!

Choose from one of four characters, Imperial, Alchemist, Wizard, or Zipangu, and set out on adventure through a variety of action stages. Collect the materials here you’ll use to build up your kingdom, placing buildings that buff your characters’ stats. Then set out again to conquer even more dangerous stages, until the bosses are afraid of you.

■ Gameplay Details

To solve the mystery behind the kingdom’s ruin, take on missions and set off for adventure!

Explore the world, and you’ll see monsters roaming around. You can either avoid them or seek out battles aggressively. By battling monsters, you’ll earn materials to use back at your kingdom.

Defeating enemies will also earn you experience points, raising the level of your adventurer. Leveling up will increase your parameters and make you stronger. You’ll also earn CP to spend on your Class Circle to unlock new abilities!

Succeed on your mission, and you can take your hard earned materials home with you safely.

In the strategy part of the game, use the materials you’ve gathered to build structures and restore the kingdom. Even from a lowly start, adventurers will get stronger and stronger by restoring their kingdom and adventuring.

Raise your levels on missions and set out on new adventures! Depending on how you build the kingdom and take on requests from residents, you can even change the ending of the story!

Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster is releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC on April 23.
