“Can it run Doom” has become a meme at this point but it seems even roguelikes can run doom. Namely the game Balatro, which it turns out can indeed run Doom.
On the official Reddit Balatro forum, user UwUDev shared footage of their latest project that sees the iconic first-person shooter running on the game’s Joker collection screen. The catch is that while it runs, it runs very, very slowly.
“It’s super laggy and I often have big lag spikes but it works, I’ll see later if I can optimize it because it’s really unplayable”.

The idea came after after the creator built a mod which could play videos inside Balatro cards. In the above video though, they claim that they are playing the game live.
