PigsyRetro, the lead developer behind the fan effort to bring Castlevania: Symphony of the Night to the Genesis / Mega Drive, has shown off a small demo of the 2004 GBA game Castlevania Aria of Sorrow running on Sega’s 16-bit console. But, before you get all excited  PigsyRetro has stated this was done as a little playground where testing of programing concepts and enemu AI for the SOTN port could be done and that there are “No plans to actually do a full AoS port!”

In another post, PigsyRetro nited that they have “really come to enjoy the MD’s high contrast graphics,”  and that “it would be interesting to see what Pyron could do with the Aria graphics, but he’s already helping me enough with SotN so I won’t bother him with this!”. Pyron  of course being @GabrielPyron, who has worked on several high-profile Genesis homebrew projects in the past.
