The Castlevania series is absolutely beloved and for many, the high point of the series was the 1997 release of Symphony of the Night, which fully marked the shift to the Metroidvania genre, which saw multiple entries on the GBA and 3DS. While some prefer the original Classivvania style, a new fan title looks to merge the NES-era titles with a more modern Metroidvania feel.
To be specific, Lv4 Games has created Castlevania ReVamped, a Windows and Linux-based title that looks to take the original title and redo it to feature the non-linear, gear-gated gameplay of the Metroidvania genre.
