Evercade Announces The Bitmap Brothers Collection 2 with Amiga games for Evercade and Super Pocket devices

Blaze Entertainment has today announced a new collection from a returning license partner with Rebellion in The Bitmap Brothers Collection 2, a new six game physical Evercade Cartridge collection.

The Bitmap Brothers games last appeared on an Evercade Cartridge back in 2021 with a collection of five home console games. This time, the cult favourite studio is represented with the area where they made their name – Amiga.

Known as the “Rock Stars” of British game development, the trio of Mike Montgomery, Eric Matthews and Steve Kelly made a name for themselves and The Bitmap Brothers studio on Amiga and other home computer systems. From 1987 to 2003, the studio created a number of critically acclaimed games on Amiga that made their way to many console systems and encompassed a number of genres.

This range of games highlights the best of the Amiga years for the developer, along with a latter-day 32-bit great. The much requested Godsand Magic Pockets are present along with the two adventure games Cadaverand Cadaver: The Payoff, the previously Amiga-exclusive The Chaos Engine2and the 32-bit console version of the fan favourite real-time strategy game Z.

Curated by the Evercade team and current rights holders, Rebellion, this new collection rounds off the classic selection of titles developed by The Bitmap Brothers across the two Evercade Cartridge collections. This blue-coloured collection, which denotes it is a part of Evercade’s home computer line-up, will be numbered 08.

This new collection is just around the corner with a release date of  September 2024, and will be available to pre-order from August 30th, 2024 from all Evercade retailers alongside a yet-to-be-announced cartridge collection. This will be priced at the standard Evercade Cartridge price of £17.99, $19.99 and €19.99.
