Blaze Entertainment is delighted to announce its newest Evercade hardware, the Evercade Alpha – the first Evercade-compatible bartop arcade machine.

The Evercade Alpha allows you to change the game. Available in two officially licensed designs from our partners at the legendary arcade game publisher Capcom, Evercade Alpha brings a new evolution to the bartop arcade market.

Evercade Alpha comes in two variants, the Evercade Alpha Street Fighter™ Bartop Arcade and the Evercade Alpha Mega Man™ Bartop Arcade. Each pre-assembled unit features 6 unique built-in arcade games that are fan favourites and deeper cuts rarely released in this form factor. The games and arcade designs are officially licensed. You can find the full game list below.

In addition to the built-in titles, and unique to the pre-built arcade market, the Evercade Alpha is fully compatible with the Evercade ecosystem, with dual cartridge slots on the device. You can play any Evercade cartridge on the arcade. This gives you the choice of over 50+ cartridges and 500+ arcade, console, home computer, and indie games, that you can play on your Evercade Alpha and physically own – no downloads, no online store, no modding, and no difficult setup. It’s all there to enjoy by simply inserting a cartridge and playing.

Each Evercade Alpha comes with competition-grade arcade controls for one player, and two USB ports at the front to allow for local multiplayer for up to two players. You can use any Evercade VS or VS-R controller or a multitude of supported third-party controllers and arcade sticks with the Evercade Alpha.

The Evercade Alpha features higher quality components than many in the Bartop arcade space with an 8″ high-resolution IPS screen and USB-C power (with cable and plug included), stereo speakers, and a headphone jack at the front of the unit. It comes pre-built in the box so no assembly is required and also has built-in WiFi for any system updates. The unit stands at 410mm tall meaning it will fit in even the smallest households or game rooms.

As well as the built-in games, the Evercade Alpha also has a light-up swappable marquee. This means you can change the marquee at the top of the unit to match the game you wish to play, easily and with no tools or fuss. As well as the pre-installed marquee, each Evercade Alpha comes with two additional marquees with others being sold separately.

Pricing

Each Evercade Alpha will be available at an introductory price for pre-order only. The pre-order price of £199.99 | $229.99 | €229.99 is only available to people who pre-order the Evercade Alpha between June 4th and will release in November 2024.

The normal price for the Evercade Alpha will be £229.99 | $249.99 | €249.99 once the pre-order period is over.

Deluxe Edition

Available exclusively at Funstock, the Deluxe Editions of the Evercade Alpha Bartop Arcade machines give you more upgrades and accessories in the box. Each Evercade Alpha Deluxe Edition features Sanwa arcade stick controls pre-built in to the unit and comes with an exclusive Evercade Alpha branded USB controller.

It also comes with all the available marquees for the variant of Bartop Arcade, so that’s three additional marquees compared to the standard edition, a certificate of authenticity and an exclusive poster! The value of these extras is over £/€100.

The Deluxe Editions SRPs are £249.99 | €289.99 each. To allow for the best shipping rates, US and Canada orders of the Deluxe Edition Evercade Alpha units will be distributed directly from the US. EU and UK/Rest of World orders will be dispatched locally from Funstock’s EU and UK warehouses.

Notes

Evercade was first released in 2020 as a handheld device with ten gaming cartridges of classic console licenses. Since then it has grown to two other hardware devices (listed below) and now has over 50 physical cartridge collections and over 500 games across the entire ecosystem.

Evercade devices play games via emulation on bespoke cartridges. These physical releases play the games contained and come in a physical case with a full-colour manual, custom written by Blaze with controls, hints and tips, and interesting facts about the titles and developers.

Evercade emulates a wide range of systems (including 8, 16, 32, and 64-bit consoles, handhelds, THEC64, and Amiga home computers, and arcade games), as well as natively run games, and also highlights modern retro games created by indie developers, with support for five decades of gaming.

Evercade cartridges have three distinct colour schemes to highlight their content. Red-coloured boxes feature home console collections from multiple systems across five decades of gaming. Purple indicates Arcade game collections and Blue is for home computer collections.

The Evercade EXP-R is the newest handheld gaming system from Evercade. To be released in July 2024, this console allows you to play your carts on the go, features a TATE mode to play vertical orientation arcade games at their optimum screen size, and comes bundled with Tomb Raider Collection 1. This product is replacing the now-discontinued Evercade EXP.

The Evercade VS-R home console is the best way to play Evercade cartridge on your TV. Alsoto be released in July 2024, the console features a dual cartridge slot and support for up to four USB controllers for local multiplayer. The console also comes bundled with the Tomb Raider Collection 1 cartridge. This product is replacing the now-discontinued Evercade VS.

In 2023, Blaze Entertainment launched its new brand HyperMegaTech! to provide more retro gaming products aimed at a more casual market. The first two products, the Super Pockets also come with Evercade cartridge compatibility.
