In May of 2025 Ecco the Dolphin series creator Ed Annunziata revealed that he and the entire original dev team were going to remaster the original Ecco the Dolphin along with the Tides of Time sequel. Then recently it was announced that multiple Ecco The Dolphin games were in development. Now we have a new update with confirmation that the Ecco the Dolphin remaster is heading to Switch.
To be more clear, the most recent issue of Famitsu Magazine has a two-page spread on the Ecco the Dolphin remaster, which reveals that the remaster will revamp the graphics and also make the game a bit more accessible, although specifics on that front weren’t shared. It should be noted that the Switch is the only platform mentioned in the feature.
Other details were mentioned as well, including that the project will include the 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit versions in one package, and players will be able to switch between the styles on the fly. Additionally e an official name for this remaster isn’t locked in just yet, but “Ecco Complete” is the current frontrunner.
