D4 Enterprise once again unearths a very obscure MSX title from Compile’s catalog. Diehard gamers may know Compile for their incredible shooter catalog with games such as Zanac, Power Strike, Gun-Nac, or their very addictive Puyo Puyo puzzle series. Much like Konami their home console roots all began on the MSX microcomputer. Aqua Polis SOS is one of Compile’s earliest games released for MSX back in 1983.

Aqua Polis SOS is very similar to Taito’s Lunar Rescue with a dash of Missile Command. You on a submersible have to drop down to the bottom of the ocean and rescue 5 captives each level while avoiding predatory giant sea animals. While on the surface you also have to protect the underwater cities from missiles by making them crash into your barrier. Once all of the cities are smashed it is game over.  It is a very simple game typical of the Atari and Colecovision period. You play nonstop for score.

Like all EGGCONSOLE releases you have rewind features, multiple video options, and scans of the original packaging and manual.

EGGCONSOLE Aqua Polis SOS will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop on 12/19 for $6.49 USD. Here is a YouTube video with some gameplay footage.
