Today, a brand new, summer-themed event begins in the mobile roguelite RPG DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow. The ‘Smash/Grow 2026 Watermelon Mania’ in-game event brings new outfits, a permanent Memory Core system, a powerful new weapon and much more to the game, available from now until Tuesday, September 22, UTC.
By clearing stages, players can earn Watermelon Chunks, which can be used to unlock new recipes as well as obtain and upgrade event skills. Obtainable Watermelon Pips can be traded in the Swap Shop to unlock summertime event-exclusive outfit, accessory and other rewards. Players can also obtain up to 1,200 gems by simply signing into the game daily to claim login bonuses.
The Scandalous Swimsuits ’26 Set is now available for a limited time. As part of the set, a new weapon, the Watermaul Wand, can also be obtained during the event. The Watermaul Wand comes with the Coup de Grâce “Watermaul Typhoon,” which unleashes fierce ocean winds around the enemy with the highest HP, pulling in nearby enemies and dealing magical wind damage. It also features the Enchantment “Sea Spray,” which creates a wind-infused shockwave that damages nearby enemies after sphere-type skills land a certain number of hits. The Scandalous Swimsuits ’26 Set can be obtained until September 29, UTC.
The brand new Memory Core system makes its debut during the Watermelon Mania event. This system will unlock as players progress through Chapter 6 of the story quests and allows players to form Memory Cores in order to strengthen their characters. Up to two Memory Cores can be equipped on a character. Memory Cores can be created using gold coins and Memory Points acquired by trading in unwanted Memories. Additionally, by combining three Memory Cores of the same rank and spending gold coins, you can create an all-new Memory Core.
