Square Enix has a problem on its hands, but it is a problem game publishers greatly desire.

After years of anticipation, Square Enix has finally released Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and the game seems to be selling well around the world. We do not have concrete figures yet, but one area where those stats aren’t needed to prove a success is Japan where the game is selling faster than Square Enix can provide for.

Dragon Quest has always been absolutely massive in Japan, and Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is no exception. Reports are coming in from multiple retailers that have shown that the physical release has completely sold out making getting a copy next to impossible. This is a good problem for a publisher as it means the game is a success, but hopefully they can provide more copies soon.
