The latest playtest for Don’t Lose Aggro is now underway, giving players an early look at a major update currently in development for the singleplayer action roguelike.

Players who previously signed up for the playtest are now receiving Steam keys and can jump into the updated build to test its new systems, gameplay changes and other improvements. Feedback from the testing period will help shape the update before it is introduced to the main game.

The latest Don’t Lose Aggro playtest expands the party size from two characters to three while introducing new companion behaviors, a target marking system and a new companion known as the Summoner. The update also adds a new tutorial, a new shield system with individual toughness modifiers, the Blood Strike ability, new status effects and debuffs, and various UX and UI improvements.

Don’t Lose Aggro puts players in the role of a tank, taking inspiration from the mechanics and responsibilities of MMO raids and adapting them into a singleplayer action roguelike. Players are tasked with managing enemy attention, protecting their companions and building their character through talent choices while deciding how to approach each encounter.

The expanded party size and new companion systems are intended to add more options to how players manage encounters, while the new combat mechanics and abilities provide additional tools during battles.

Feedback is a key part of the current testing period, with participants encouraged to share their thoughts on combat balance, companion behavior, usability, bugs and other aspects of the experience that they feel work well or still need improvement.

The Don’t Lose Aggro demo is also now available to play through cloud gaming on Ludeo.

Players interested in taking part in future playtests can sign up through the game’s Steam page. Don’t Lose Aggro is currently available in Early Access on Steam.
