Beep Japan,  Poppy Works, and Protoculture Games have announced the release of the side-scrolling shoot ’em up Devil Engine: Complete Edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch on October 12. The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally, with support for both English and Japanese language options in Japan.

The game will cost 3,980 yen and include the expansion “Devil Engine: Ignition” and bonus title 1993 Shenandoah. Devil Engine first launched for PC on February 21, 2019 and the expansion “Devil Engine: Ignition” was announced in May 2019, for a launch on PC in winter 2019 that never materialized. This looks to be the PC debut for the expansion as well.

Devil Engine is a high-octane, classic-styled side-scrolling shoot-em-up heavily influenced by the big names in the genre from the 32-bit era. It features a variety of incredible locations, hand-drawn pixel art, and a blood-pumping soundtrack that brings the dark future to life.
