Players begin by creating a character and jumping headfirst into fashion. The character can be a representation of the person playing or can just be someone they’d like to design for. This game doesn’t care who it is, everyone has a chance to make their fashion dreams come true.
As players interact with NPCs they will begin to level up and the NPCs will eventually become the player’s fan. They might ask for specific items or colors, maybe a specific pattern and this is all to prep the player for online, though no player has to leave offline if they don’t want too
This game is a ton of fun and offers up hours of content. By mixing and matching outfits for the NPCs that litter the different game areas, the player will gain more pieces of clothing. They can look at any outfit and pick and choose whatever they might like to keep in their collection.
The collection is all the things that the player has seemed interesting. It eventually could become quite eclectic as there are so many styles in this game. There are really no shortage of different items and every time I play I find myself shocked at how many pieces of clothing are in this game.
Players can make all sorts of good looks for the characters in the game and raise their fashion level. As they do so the game opens up letting them explore other areas and gaining more money to make more clothes, making the game expand as the player explores and creates. Games like this don’t always come out so it’s refreshing to see a game like this exist.
Every character in the game can also create their own brand. While initially it’s not possible to create the most interesting pieces as they play they can invest in more options and increase the things they can customize. It’s really cool seeing the game slowly expand as the players play because honestly, this game could easily be pay-to-win.
Creating a brand requires players to make a logo and there are plenty of images, backgrounds, and other effects. The sky is really the limit as players could spend hours creating their perfect brand logo. So many different choices for amazing logos are possible, that it kind of boggled my mind.
Players can even play bingo to gain more money. With bingo tickets, players can earn mass amounts of points to buy and spend and a little gamble could result in a big win, and early on especially that can be a godsend. One specific item could be all the player needs to shoot to the top.
There is also a gacha machine where players can spend gacha tickets to get a variety of items. These clothing items are ranked too and can be crafted for free, which is great because it immediately opens up more items for the player to make.
Players might have fun offline but they can also bring the fun to the world. While maxing out the player’s level offline is possible, online is more cooperative. The NPCs can only respond so much and while they are always appreciative of the outfits, it’s just what they are programmed to do.
Players can jump online and see a world of outfits and there are players in this game who nearly maxed out their fashion level on day ow. These are people who are so interested in fashion that they basically made this game their job. Going online allows players to rake in the cash, and see some amazing work.
I waited a bit to see the online mode because I wanted to just get comfortable with the game. There is a lot to see and do, and I didn’t want to get bogged down by ideas from other players. This game is a perfect chill game and one that anyone can spend hours enjoying and a game that offers up exactly what a player is willing to give.
Fashion Dreamer has a lot of weird characters. The NPCs are all named something like Conceited Chris and have an adjective to describe what they might say and the game just runs with it. Some of these characters are downright unhinged while others are simply just obsessed with clothes.
As players play offline, they will see them pop up ad nauseam. It does get a little annoying to continue to make clothes for the same 7 characters, but the roster of NPCs really is quite expensive. Soon enough there will be a near endless amount of them parading around.
There are even stores in the game where players can pick up a bunch of great items in one fell swoop. If they are online, players can see which of the items are rated number one, and see how they stack up against the competition. This game is all about the different characters NPC or otherwise.
There is also a photo egg, where players can take pictures of their characters. This is a nice bit of vanity, where players can snap shots of their favorite looks. They can fly a drone around and take pictures of outfits or their characters exploring the world and photography adds a little bit of fun to a world just about fashion.
Players can choose all sorts of backgrounds and add stickers too. Spending some money lets players buy different props for their character to hold too, such as juice boxes or a wand. It all depends on the random stock so it’s good to check them daily.
The game has monthly updates too., as while the Fantasy Fair might be done there will be new fairs every month. These fairs offer up challenges for days and encourage players to simply play the game. With themed rewards, players can increase their clothing items and find some cool things.
Free content being added so often for the first year is a great boon to the game. While there is already a lot of fun to be had in the base game it’s great to see them putting the work in to keep gamers excited to play. It isn’t always possible for developers to do that, so I think it’s great to see.
Fashion Dreamer is a great game for anyone and everyone. It’s a game where players can create the looks they’ve always wanted to wear. It’s a game based on Fashion that allows for unlimited creativity and I enjoyed the time spent running around the different areas creating for people and NPCs alike. Will the player’s Fashion Empire rise to greatness or crash and burn?
