Bandai Namco Entertainment America has confirmed that the first expansion for CODE VEIN II, subtitled Mask of Idris, will launch on September 9, 2026. The add-on is already purchasable on its own and is bundled into both the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game. CODE VEIN II itself is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, CODE VEIN II casts players as a Revenant Hunter who manipulates time itself while moving between past and present versions of the game’s world in an effort to stop humanity’s destruction. Mask of Idris pushes that story into new territory with a region called the Forsaken World, a realm built from the combined regrets of timelines that were erased through historical change. At the centre of this world sits a massive, churning spindle that continues to pull in emotion from across time and space, and it has begun to threaten the world players already know. Investigating the disturbance brings players face to face with Liv Voda, a guardian of time and space whose charm is matched by an aggressive streak. Because the expansion picks up after the credits roll, players will need to have already reached the “Luna Fraterna” ending and cleared the “Valentin’s Request” sub-mission before they can start it.
Alongside the expansion, Bandai Namco is rolling out a free Version 2.0 update on the same day. The patch adds several improvements, including new content that opens up exploration of the post-story world for players and their partner characters. Further specifics on what else the update includes are expected to be shared closer to launch.
CODE VEIN II keeps the series’ signature loop intact, with players draining blood from enemies to power a range of abilities, mixing and matching Blood Codes to shape their combat approach, and wielding a set of unusual weapons called Jails against the game’s tougher enemies and bosses. New to the sequel is the Partner System, which allows players to swap between two distinct combat styles on the fly for a more dynamic fight. The character creator also returns in full force, letting players fine-tune their Revenant Hunter’s body type, hairstyle, facial expression, accessories, and makeup, among other options. Outside of combat, players can head to the game’s hot spring locations to see their character rendered under different lighting, with Photo Mode available to capture and save the results.
