D4 Enterprise’s Egg Console series of PC-88 rereleases will continue with the classic shoot ’em-up Silpheed coming to the system on December 21st
Slipheed was originally published and developed by Game Arts and was released on the PC-88 in 1986 before being ported to multiple other platforms including the FM-77AV, Apple IIGS, TRS80 CoCo, DOS, and Sega CD.
The game puts players behind the controls of the Silpheed SA-08 fighter ship and lets them take to the stars to do battle against an evil group of terrorists, led by the brutal Xalacite. Slipheed is notable for using a pseudo-3D presentation as well as experimenting with digitized speech.
