INTI CREATES has opened digital pre-orders for Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, offering a 10% discount ahead of its October 22 launch. The $49.99 collection brings together all three mainline entries in the 2D action platforming series, including their previously released DLC, alongside an entirely new story featuring Gunvolt and Copen.
The Switch 2 edition also introduces support for higher resolutions and frame rates, while adding Azure Striker Gunvolt GX, a new story mode that begins with the mystery surrounding Xiao Wu, an old friend and comrade of Gunvolt. The new adventure features full English and Japanese voice acting, with players switching between Gunvolt and Copen to take advantage of their unique abilities.
The new story introduces an Inspiration system that rewards players for strategically swapping between the two heroes. While one character fights, the other builds Inspiration on standby. Once the gauge is full, players can switch characters to activate a temporary boost. Building Inspiration through these swaps also fills the GX Skill gauge, eventually allowing the duo to unleash a powerful tag-team attack.
Progression brings additional rewards, too. Copen receives a new EX Weapon for every boss defeated, with these weapons created specifically for Azure Striker Gunvolt GX, while Gunvolt awakens new skills. Players can also spend credits on additional abilities and unlock challenging special missions after completing the main story.
The collection includes Azure Striker Gunvolt, originally released in 2014, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (2016), and Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 (2022), making it a comprehensive package for fans of the franchise or newcomers looking to experience the trilogy.
Players who already own the original Nintendo Switch version can purchase a $10 upgrade pack to access the Switch 2 edition. Both the full collection and upgrade pack will receive the 10% pre-order discount. Meanwhile, owners of Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam will be able to purchase the new Azure Striker Gunvolt GX story as a separate $9.99 DLC release on October 22.
Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches digitally on October 22, 2026, for $49.99.
