Hamster Corporation will be releasing a standalone digital version of  Taito’s Warrior Blade – Rastan Saga III in their Arcade Archives line for PS4 and Switch.

Originally released in 1991 at arcades Warrior Blade is the final part of the Rastan trilogy and big departure from the previous 2 games which are action platformers. Instead it is a co op hack n slash beat em up similar to Sega’s Golden Axe series.

Warrior Blade was originally a multi monitor arcade just like the Darius series of space shooters, The Ninjawarriors, and Konami’s X-Men beat em up.

You play as the heroic barbarian Rastan or his 2 pirate companions Dewey and Sophia battling waves of enemy soldiers and all sorts of mythical monsters during their quest for treasure and fame. Unlike most beat em ups from that period there are multiple routes to choose from which gives the game a lot of replay value.

Warrior Blade – Rastan Saga III is now out on the Japanese PSN and Nintendo Switch eshop. It will be released in the west tomorrow for $7.99 USD. Here is the trailer below.
