Super Spacefortress Macross has arrived on PS4 and Nintendo Switch via Arcade Archives, and the fun will not stop there.
During the December 26, 2024 official distribution show from HAMSTER, it was announced that the 1993 Arcade title Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II will also be coming to Arcade Archives. The release date and price were not announced, though it should be noted that Super Spacefortress Macross is priced higher than regular Arcade Archives games due to the licensing involved..
Like the first game, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II is a shmup released for arcades, but unlike the first game, this one is a side-scrolling affair.
It should be noted that there may be issues preventing a western release, like with the first game, so this may end up a Japan only title.That said, Harmony Gold does not have a stake in this part of the series, and so the game may see a worldwide release.
