Today at the inaugural OTK Games Expo, storied gaming publisher Apogee Entertainment released new trailers for survival horror game Total Chaos and 2D action-platformer RPG LUCID. Beautiful and bleak worlds await in fresh looks at these two upcoming games from the publisher that brought you retro-inspired indie hits Turbo Overkill and Wizordum, and classics like Duke Nukem, Prey, and Max Payne.
In the latest trailer for New Zealand-based developer Trigger Happy Interactive’s (of Turbo Overkill fame) psychological survival horror game, we bear witness to the horrors that await deep in the desolate mining outpost of Fort Oasis. Total Chaos is a pulse-pounding, atmospheric nightmare that blends different eras of survival horror hallmarks — featuring classically-inspired resource management, methodical melee combat and gunplay, and haunting visuals with grotesque environments and creatures. Originally conceived as an award-winning total conversion mod of DOOM II, Total Chaos has been reimagined into a modern standalone experience, amplifying its chilling atmosphere and relentless tension for a new generation of players.
Total Chaos arrives on Windows PC via Steam later this summer, with VR support coming post-launch. A demo is available to download now on Steam.
Total Chaos Key Features:
-
Immersive Atmosphere: Explore the decayed ruins of Fort Oasis across nine harrowing chapters, each drenched in dread, plunging you deeper into its oppressive, decaying world.
-
Environmental Storytelling: Uncover the island’s darkest secrets and confront your own fractured past through cryptic notes, haunting visuals, and unsettling encounters.
-
Crafting for Survival: Build and upgrade weapons using scavenged materials to stand a chance against the relentless terrors stalking you.
-
Face Freakish Foes: Engage against horrific creatures, each with their own deadly behaviors and strategies.
- Resource Management: Navigate a deep inventory system where every item matters—your survival hinges on careful choices, crafting the perfect weapon, and quick thinking on the fly.
Sentinels, rise to become legend! The newest trailer for 2D action-platformer RPG LUCID from solo developer Eric Manahan of The Matte Black Studio showcases more of the game’s gorgeous pixel art and awe-inspiring maneuverability. As Oenn, a young Sentinel on a path to fulfill a solemn promise, players must journey through a crystal-punk world torn apart by calamitous events. In this beautifully hand-crafted world, players will absorb powerful abilities that expand movement and enhance their combat skills, allowing them to face off against a diverse cast of enemies and bosses. Inspired by the golden age of 2D side-scrollers, LUCID delivers an experience that seamlessly combines nostalgia with modern gaming. It’s fast, action-packed, and narratively rich.
LUCID will first be released for Windows PC via Steam in 2026, with console ports arriving later. Fans can wishlist LUCID on Steam and pledge via PayPal to secure post-Kickstarter backer rewards, including an exclusive alpha demo.
LUCID Key Features:
- Tight Controls: As an extension of the player, Oenn is a joy to handle. While you navigate the platforming puzzles and master the airborne combat, you will enter the oh-so sought-after flow state.
- Crystal Arts: Learn powerful new abilities like the Crystal Blade, Crystal Spear, and Crystal Axe! Each Crystal Art modifies mobility and enhances combat differently, offering a range of options for traversing the world and vanquishing your foes.

- Intense Boss Battles!: On your quest, you will encounter many dangerous foes. Use your accumulated knowledge and prowess to conquer these awe-inspiring adversaries and advance further in your quest.
