“It’s an honor to have Akira Yamaoka at our upcoming performance on Toronto, Canada,” notes JMP Entertainment’s Jason Michael Paul. “Yamaoka-san and I go way back to the 2006 debut of PLAY! A Video Game Symphony that was his first stateside appearance. His rockstar charisma was undeniable with his signature snakeskin pants, and we’re looking forward to creating a special moment for fans given his recent work on SILENT HILL f.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone during the Heroes meet and greet and from the stage in Toronto next September,” comments Akira Yamaoka. “Please look forward to it!”

Heroes: A Video Game Symphony debuted in 2023 and is unique among game music concerts for its narrative framework drawn from Joseph Campbell’s monomyth which has inspired countless videogames, film, and books throughout history. Each stage in the monomyth is a chapter in the concert, with music selections curated to invoke the themes of each stage. The show’s narration is provided by the incomparable Nigel Carrington, whose voice many may know from The Chinese Room’s Dear Esther and music selections include The Elder Scrolls, Prince of Persia, Baldur’s Gate, Diablo, Assassin’s Creed, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Fallout, Halo, and more.
