Retro gaming fans have another physical collection to add to their shelves, as Selecta Play has officially released Aero The Acro-Bat Legacy + Sunsoft Lost Gems at retail for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The collection brings six games from Sunsoft’s 16-bit-era library together in a single physical release, giving both longtime fans and newcomers a chance to revisit some of the publisher’s more colorful platforming and action titles.
At the center of the collection is Aero the Acro-Bat, the circus-themed hero who made his debut during the 16-bit era. The original Aero the Acro-Bat sees Aero taking on industrialist Edgar Ektor while attempting to rescue his captured friends, while Aero the Acro-Bat 2 sends the character into a mysterious world filled with traps, secrets, and another scheme from Ektor.
The collection also includes Aero the Acro-Bat: Rascal Rival Revenge, offering another take on Aero’s rivalry and circus-inspired platforming action. Joining him is Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, which puts Aero’s former ally in the spotlight for his own fast-paced adventure. Zero must return home and confront his former master while dealing with a series of challenging obstacles along the way.
The remaining two games broaden the collection beyond Aero and Zero. Feudal Bros follows a Japanese samurai and a French prince as the unlikely pair join forces on a humorous quest to save the world, while Justice Ninja Casey puts players in control of Casey, the Ninja of Justice, for an action-focused adventure built around combat, stealth, and exploration.
Rather than limiting the release to one particular franchise, Aero The Acro-Bat Legacy + Sunsoft Lost Gems serves as a broader snapshot of Sunsoft’s classic-era output, with six complete games gathered together on a physical disc or cartridge. For collectors in particular, the release provides a new way to add these retro titles to a modern PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch library.
