Metroid Prime 4 is one of the most anticipated games from Nintendo, and while Nintendo and Retro Studios have remained silent about the game for a long time, we may have some good news on the game’s performance.
YouTuber DocTre81, who is known for finding information via LinkedIn and discovering details about games ahead of official announcements, has released a new video with some relevant news. The video showed off the profile of a developer at Retro Studios who has worked on Metroid Prime 4, where it is mentioned that one of his main tasks has been to optimize Switch games to run at 60Hz. If Prime 4 does in fact support 60 Hz, this would likely mean the game would run at 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch, although it could still potentially mean Nintendo’s upcoming Switch successor.
That being said, it was also mentioned that he was one of the people responsible for optimizing Metroid Prime Remastered to be able to run at 60fps on Switch, and is also working on that for Metroid Prime 4.
For now, we need to take this news as unconfirmed for now, but it is a good sign for the game.
