A developer on Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has revealed that they want to make a Legend of Zelda spin-off, which doesn’t seem too far-fetched considering Nintendo and Ubisoft’s previous collaborations.

Prince of Persia fans have been begging Ubisoft for a new game for a long time now and, while we seemingly won’t be seeing the Sands of Time remake for quite a while, The Lost Crown has already managed to reinvigorate the series in a big way. With Sargon’s adventures proving to be a big hit with fans already, you might be excited to learn that some of the devs on the game have some very cool ideas for what they could potentially work on next.

To celebrate the launch of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, developers from Ubisoft Montpellier took to the Metroidvania subreddit to fan questions and there is one that stood out especially. A question from Redditor IceKrabby, asked the developers what series or IP they’d like to make a game for that they don’t have or haven’t had access to so far,  such as Mario and Final Fantasy to give examples. Senior game designer on The Lost Crown, Rémi Boutin, revealed that they would “LOVE” to work with the Zelda IP and make a “strange spin-off based on Adventure of Link”, and also suggested working with the Castlevania series.

Nintendo and Konami have both been more open to letting outside devs handle their IP lately, with Castlevania becoming the basis for DLC for Dead Cells and Nintendo working with Ubisoft to make the Mario + Rabbids games. Hopefully, something can be worked out because fans of these games would be very happy for such projects.
