Half Past Yellow’s co-op horror game Stream Train has officially launched on Steam, inviting players to trade internet fame for survival as they explore a cryptid-infested wilderness aboard an old steam locomotive. The game supports up to six players and follows a successful playtest that attracted more than 10,000 participants, with their feedback helping the developer make adjustments ahead of release.
To celebrate the launch, Stream Train is available at a 35% discount for the next 14 days.
Set in the Uncanny Valley, Stream Train puts players in the role of aspiring livestreamers hoping to make a name for themselves by documenting the horrors lurking along an abandoned railway. Players can customize their avatars, explore derelict buildings, and investigate strange encounters, all while trying to keep their journey from becoming their last broadcast.
Survival isn’t just about avoiding the creatures roaming the wilderness, however. Players must also entertain their audience, capture compelling footage, and pull off pranks to keep their livestream chat engaged. Viewers can react to events in real time, issue challenges, make requests, and provide donations that help fund essential supplies. Fuel and equipment are necessary to keep the train moving, making audience engagement an important part of any expedition.
Of course, chasing viral moments can be a dangerous business when the wilderness is filled with ghosts, cryptids, and hostile supernatural entities. Some encounters may be survivable, but others can quickly spiral out of control, particularly when friends decide that provoking something terrifying is worth the footage. With up to six players working together, Stream Train combines cooperative survival with the unpredictable chaos of trying to turn paranormal encounters into internet content.
Developer Half Past Yellow also has plans to expand the experience following launch. Game Director Max Wrighton said the team intends to introduce quality-of-life improvements alongside additional items, locations, and monsters over the coming months.
Stream Train is available now on Steam, with its launch discount offering an opportunity for groups looking for a cooperative horror game with a livestreaming twist.
