Wildfires are about to become a team effort in Rescue Ops: Wildfire, an upcoming tactical firefighting simulator from developer Exkee. The game is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam in early 2027, but players can already get a taste of the action thanks to a free demo available now.

Built around single-player and four-player co-op, Rescue Ops: Wildfire challenges players to battle rapidly spreading fires, navigate dangerous terrain, and rescue civilians caught in the path of the flames. Developed in collaboration with real-world firefighting experts, the game aims to capture the coordination and resource management required to tackle large-scale wildfires.

Fire behaviour is central to the experience, with an Unreal Engine 5-powered simulation that accounts for factors such as wind direction, terrain elevation, vegetation density, and weather conditions. Fires can spread dynamically, forcing crews to adapt their approach as conditions change. Players will need to manage limited water supplies, establish firebreaks, operate hose lines, and coordinate aerial support to keep blazes under control.

Rescue Ops: Wildfire also puts an emphasis on saving lives, tasking players with locating trapped civilians, providing first aid, and arranging medical evacuations before advancing fire lines cut off escape routes. Ground vehicles, water bomber aircraft, and helicopter supply runs will provide additional tools for responding to emergencies across rugged environments.

Alongside its structured campaign, which follows a global fire season, the game will feature a Sandbox mode with randomized objectives and dynamic fire scenarios. Whether tackling missions alone or coordinating with a full crew, players will need to balance firefighting operations with search-and-rescue efforts as each situation unfolds.
