Atlantis Studio has announced that its two-player co-op horror adventure Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026, putting the game just ahead of Halloween.
Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch is built specifically around two-player co-op, with players taking on completely different roles as they attempt to escape a mysterious house while avoiding a hostile entity. One player enters the house from a first-person perspective, searching for clues, investigating its mysteries and trying to find a way out before THE ENTITY catches them. The other player remains outside, using a network of cameras and tactical tools to monitor the house and guide their partner through the dangers within.
The two perspectives are designed to work together, meaning neither player has access to all of the information needed to survive. Communication is therefore essential, with players having to share clues, warn each other about threats and coordinate their movements. A mistake or misunderstanding can quickly turn an escape attempt into a deadly encounter with THE ENTITY.
Atlantis Studio describes the experience as being similar to an escape room, with the game’s short, high-stakes scenarios putting an emphasis on teamwork and problem-solving. The house itself is filled with anomalies, secrets and unseen dangers, creating a claustrophobic setting where players will need to pay close attention to their surroundings.
Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch will support several ways to play together, including couch co-op, GameShare, Local Network and online multiplayer. The game will also include a Friend’s Pass, allowing a second player to join without purchasing their own copy. That second player can use either a Nintendo Switch 2 or an original Nintendo Switch.
