Konami has released a new concept trailer for Konami Wai Wai World Craft, giving players a fresh look at the company’s upcoming free-to-play game creation project. Originally announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025, the title will let players create, customize, and share their own games while incorporating characters from across Konami’s catalogue.

The project is planned for PC via Steam, iOS, and Android, although Konami has not yet announced a release date. While the latest trailer provides a broader look at the concept, the company has also outlined several of the tools and features players can expect when Wai Wai World Craft eventually launches.

Rather than being a traditional standalone Konami game, Wai Wai World Craft is built around user-created content. Players will be able to take existing games as starting points, change their rules, add items, build new maps, and reshape them into entirely different experiences before sharing their creations with the community.

Konami is also making recognizable characters part of the experience. Players will be able to control a variety of Actors, including Primon, Sting’s Pyo Pyo Kero, Bill Rizer from Contra, Simon Belmont from Castlevania, and Amaterasu from Poyo Poyo Tank. Each Actor has different abilities, potentially making some better suited to particular games than others.

Actors can also be customized with accessories that can be placed on different parts of their bodies, including the head and arms. Players can adjust the size and position of these accessories to create their own looks, with the resulting characters appearing in multiplayer experiences as well.

Creating a game is intended to be accessible even for players without development experience. Alongside the more traditional editing tools, Wai Wai World Craft will feature the Magic Pod, which can automatically generate a game after players answer a few questions. Konami says the process can produce a playable creation in around three minutes, with users then able to make further changes and refine the result.

The idea is to make experimentation a major part of the experience. A simple concept can become a playable game quickly, while players who want more control can continue modifying their creations before sharing them with others.

The community also has its own progression and support systems. Players can collect Fave Birds while playing and give them to creators whose work they enjoy. Those creators can receive support from the people playing their games, encouraging the community to keep producing new experiences.

Silver Points will provide another form of progression. Players can earn them through activities such as playing and creating games, as well as through the success of creators they support. The points can be exchanged for accessories, items, and colour variations for Actors, giving players additional ways to customize their characters.

Super Items will also be available during gameplay, providing effects such as HP restoration and barriers. These can be particularly useful when taking on challenging creations or competing against other players in player-versus-player matches.

With its combination of simplified creation tools, user-generated games, familiar Konami characters, customization, and social features, Wai Wai World Craft is shaping up to be an unusual addition to the company’s lineup. Rather than focusing on a single traditional game experience, Konami is attempting to build an environment where players can continually move between creating and playing.

There is still no release date for Konami Wai Wai World Craft. The game is planned for PC via Steam, as well as iOS and Android.

The new concept trailer provides an early look at what Konami has planned, but there is likely much more to reveal before launch. If the company’s creation tools prove as accessible as promised, Wai Wai World Craft could offer an interesting way for fans to put their own spin on Konami’s games and characters.
