Arc System Works has announced it will release a new DLC character for BlazBlue: Central Fiction, with the character to be announced at EVO 2026, which will run from June 26 to 28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“We will be adding a new playable character to the game,” BlazBlue: Central Fiction update producer Riku Ozawa said during today’s Arc System Works Showcase 2026. “It’s been many years since this game released. We were able to make this new development happen thanks to the continued support of fans around the world who have kept the game alive. Truly, thank you so much.
“The development for this additional character was just settled very recently. Normally, we should wait to make the announcement until we have footage of the character in-game. This time, however, I wanted to share with everyone that we are working on this as soon as I could, so we’ve made this announcement without gameplay footage. I’m sure you’re curious who it will be. The new playable character is a certain someone who has appeared in the main BlazBlue games. We plan to announce who this character will be during the world’s largest fighting game tournament, EVO 2026, coming up this weekend.
“We will need more time before we can show you actual gameplay footage, but the team is currently hard at work to provide something that will live up to your expectations. So thank you for your patience. That’s all from me, thank you.”
