It seems there will be more to Super Mario Bros. Wonder than we had expected. While it looks like a unique take on the 2D side-scrolling Mario games that feature local multiplayer, it seems those who prefer online play may not be left out.
This is because the official info page for Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo’s Japanese website includes a line stating that “details of online play will be announced at a later date.”
While it is easy to assume this means there will be online multiplayer as well, we still do not know exactly what this means. That said, this does seem to confirm there is some form of online component to the game, but we will have to wait and see if Nintendo will be answering the fan demand for online multiplayer.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will release on Nintendo Switch on October 20th, 2023
