Homebrew developer “BadComputer” has released many titles for the Sega Master System over the years, such as Frontier Force, Star Runner and Blast Arena, and are back again with a new vertically scrolling shmup entitled Razing Core. A demo is available now over on itch.io for those interested. BadComputer has stated that Razing Core was developed using its own custom engine, designed primarily for the collisions, behaviour, effects and so on, with assistance and tooling help from devkitSMS, and features music from the chip tune composer Polaria Poyon. The game has been designed to work on most emulators as well as real hardware.
The demo on itch.io, called the “Alpha Demo”, was released on July 26th, and features a a main menu for tweaking the settings or listening to the music, a short tutorial section demonstrating the three main attacks, Rapid Shot, Core, and Burst Charge, as well as a the first stage of the game, albeit the stage is a work in progress still. It is a short demo but an interesting look at what is to come.
Those interested, can check out the demo of the game here.
