Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is releasing this autumn on across several platforms including Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and SEGA has stated the Switch 2 release will be available starting at $69.99, complete with a paid upgrade path for existing Switch owners. Those looking to get the game physically on Switch 2 may be worried about it being on a Game Key Card, but there is some possible good news in that regard.
While it is not 100% confirmed by SEGA yet, marketing materials and cover art for the game do seem to indicate that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on Switch 2 will be a full Game Card release, rather than going the Game-Key Card route. The packaging showcases indicates a red Switch 1 Game Card with the Switch 2 upgrade included on the Game Card itself, which is great news for fans of physical media. Hopefully SEGA will confirm this one way or the other soon.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds features a huge roster of everyone’s favorite characters from the Sonic universe, along with the addition of familiar faces from other SEGA franchises including Joker and Kasuga Ichiban, and even guest characters like Hatsune Miku, SpongeBob SquarePants and more.
