Bethesda has just released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, but the company is not looking to interfere with a well known fan project.

Skyblivion is an upcoming mod that will recreate The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in the engine of the game’s sequel Skyrim. The project has been in development for years, and some were concerned Bethesda would shut it down now that the official remaster is out.

Fortunately, not only does that not seem to be the case as Bethesda is continuing to show support for the project. To celebrate the launch of the official remaster, the entire Skyblivion team were gifted free game keys for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered as a sign of support and reiterated that there are no plans to shut down the mod.

Skyblivion will be doing some things differently than The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered when it comes to recreating Oblivion, so it will be interesting to compare the final products to each other.
