Nintendo’s Takuhiro Dohta has revealed that those playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch, will be able to move their island to the Nintendo Switch 2.
There have already been ways to move islands, such as saving it to the cloud and redownloading it ,or using the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island Transfer Tool. For Nintendo Switch 2, however, things are fairly straightforward, as your island will transfer as part of the overall console transfer process, leaving Switch 1 and moving to Switch 2.
“So I should clarify that when you do the system transfer, everything like save data will remain on the Nintendo Switch and once it moves to the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. But the [Animal Crossing] island will be an actual move. So it will leave Nintendo Switch and move over to Nintendo Switch 2.”
