Fans of the classic Beat ’em up Splatterhouse take note, as the developers behind the bullet hell shooter Good Knight are creating a spiritual successor to Namco’s classic game, entitled Carnage Mansion.
There are a few screenshots screenshots so far and some early demo footage, that shows just how much of a spiritual sequel this is. Like in Splatterhouse, the main character is a muscle-bound figure wearing a mask, and the action takes place in a crumbling, enemy-filled house. Something different here is that there is also a female character shown sitting on the protagonist’s shoulder in the mock-up screens.
Obviously this game has a long way to go still, but for those who have wanted a new Splatterhouse game, this may be the next best thing.
Carnage Mansion is planned for a release on PC via Steam, when it is ready.
